It's no surprise today that social media is how people stay connected. There are hundreds of platforms and applications. The attachments to our phones or Ipads has practically made them a life line. Among all of this technology and social media, the most common form of expression has become the SELFIE. We all do it. C'mon...admit it.
Now, if you have had an amazing physical transformation, your on a vacation, with a group of friends and you desire to share your experience with the rest of us, then by all means, please do! It's wonderful to see the journey so many of you are on and we really do enjoy partaking in sharing in your growth and "LIKING" or commenting on your adventures. These kinds of selfies show the life that we are living and you are capturing a KEY moment you are looking to share. Many times we are inspired and our family and friends who may be far away, get to see us and what we have going on.
Then, there are those "OTHER" selfies. We are sitting on the couch or at our desks at work and your photo album or social media page is flooded by hundreds of the same pic. Different look on your face, but the same pic. No friends. No amazing views. Nothing of value that is being shared and I'm left wondering about these ones. What is it you want us to SEE that you don't see in yourself? I may get a lot of "flack" for my perception, and lord knows I've taken a selfie or two like this...but certainly not on a daily or hourly basis. So, what are you missing?
Let's face it. The most important selfie you're going to see isn't one that you can post. Okay...well maybe you can, but is it authentic and fully expressed? It's the image in the mirror you see every day and what you feel about what you see that makes all the difference. Do YOU like what you see? Once you do, then get out there and do some CRAZY things and LIVE that life you've been given. Embrace the self-love with that amazing self-image.
